This year, I had the great opportunity to attend the Microsoft Developer Conference //build in San Francisco. This has been a dream of mine for many years already, always watching the keynotes on the live stream. It was a lucky coincidence that, around the time of the conference, we had already planned to do a west coast road trip. And when I was offered a ticket through the Microsoft Ventures Alumni Network, which we were part of at that time, I was really excited to go.
The day 1 keynote announced the consumer-focused products like Windows 10 and HoloLens while day 2 was really a deep-dive into how Microsoft is making it easier for developers to reach a wider audience with less effort. One of the sessions I attended was about the Microsoft Band. The SDKs for iOS, Android and Windows Phone were explained which almost offer the same features.
What I loved most, though, was to meet the developers behind the cool products I use every day, for example Visual Studio Team Services.
While the HoloLens definitely got the most attention at Build 2015, Microsoft made many other announcements that will aid developers, companies and scientists to create products and services to enable a better, more productive and healthier life.
I loved the atmosphere and will definitely be back one day!
